PRE-SCHOOL AGE LICENSED CHILD CARE CENTERS

The goal of the State Licensed Child Care Program is to provide a safe, caring, and academically challenging environment in which children may develop their self esteem, creativity, learning, social skills through the use of age-appropriate activities and materials.

The Department's Licensed Child Care program operates 2 State-licensed child care facilities which provide full day care for pre-school children 2.5 to entry into kindergarten. Jim Gilliam Child Care Center has funding provided by California Department of Education for income eligible families. Ralph M. Parsons Pre-school offers the Los Angeles Universal Preschool Program for children that have turned four years of age on or before December 2.

Both programs will offer the Creative Curriculum method of teaching.  For information please call the nearest center.
