THE COLLECTION


The Travel Town Transportation Museum is an outdoor museum which preserves and celebrates the railroad heritage of the western United States--its history and its artifacts. Particular thematic emphasis is placed on the history of Southern California and how the railroads aided its development.

Built: 1911 by American Car and Foundry
Purchased as scrap in 1961

LOS ANGELES RAILWAY TROLLEY

Built: C. 1880

Donated: 1962 Traded To Travel Town
Rebuilt: By Lausd/metro 2005

MUNICIPAL RAILWAY OF SAN FRANCISCO CABLE CAR #21

Built: Unknown, Probably Before 1900 Length: About 30'
Wheel Arrangement: 4 Wheel Trucks
Donated: 1955 Placed On Permanent Loan From The City Of San Francisco
